My First (non-competitive) L.A. 10k (ish)

6.00 miles; ? minutes; ? mph; gentle warm-up, solid hill, then flat finish

Griffith Park Run

Over the Hill Run

With the smoke from the Station fire somewhat abated, my friend and I joined the L.A. Frontrunners for the Saturday morning Fun Run in Griffith Park.  We opted for the roughly 10k “Over the Hill” route, which featured nice views of the park including horseback riding trails, the old L.A. zoo, the new L.A. zoo, the Travel Town Museum (to which my inner-transit dork will inevitably return), a golf course, and the merry-go-round.  All in all it was an enjoyable run with a fairly large hill and friendly company.

Having recently moved, I forgot to charge my handy-dandy GPS watch, so I had to fall back on good old Gmaps Pedometer.  It’s probably for the best that I wasn’t timing myself anyway…
